Invasive plants threaten nature
At first glance, the yellow-flowering Canadian goldenrod may look harmless. But in the Large Herbivore Reserve in Milovice, this species was forming stands up to 1.5 meters tall, spreading rapidly and displacing native vegetation. The biggest problem? Seeds at the tops of the plants, which can easily spread and form new colonies if handled incorrectly.
For the conservationists from Česká krajina, it was clear they needed technology that could remove the plants gently, quietly, and without spreading the seeds.
The challenge: mow without spreading
The reserve manager described the requirement clearly:
"Our goal was for the mower to cut the goldenrod at ground level or mid-stem, not shred it. The seed heads at the top would otherwise remain on the ground and quickly create new stands the following year."
The solution: SPIDER Trimmaster™
On an area of 2,000 m², the SPIDER Trimmaster™ was deployed. With a cutting width of 90 cm, it completed the job in under an hour. The key difference compared to mulchers or standard mowers? The plants were cut cleanly and left intact – without scattering seeds.
Moreover, Trimmaster™ worked quietly, causing no disturbance to the horses, bison, or other wildlife in the reserve. In such an environment, this was a crucial advantage – a noisy tractor or bar mower would not have been suitable.

Trail maintenance: SPIDER 2SGS
The second task was maintaining the “Traviny” tourist trail. A narrow strip, 200 m long and only 1–1.5 m wide, would be problematic for heavy machinery. SPIDER 2SGS managed it in just 4 minutes – faster than brushcutters and gentler than a tractor. Thanks to its low weight, it did not damage the soil, and with its agility it reached even narrow spots where other machines could not go.

Result: efficient and gentle solution
The deployment of SPIDER machines in Milovice demonstrated that even difficult ecological challenges can be solved in a modern and sensitive way:
Invasive plant control – removal of goldenrod without seed spread.
Low noise – work without disturbing wildlife.
Efficiency – 2,000 m² in under an hour, 200 m of trail in just minutes.
Safety – operator protected by remote control.

Bison in the Milovice Reserve – SPIDER helps maintain their natural environment free from noise and the spread of invasive plants.
Conclusion: SPIDER in action
The Milovice story proves that SPIDER is not just a mower, but a reliable partner in nature conservation. Both Trimmaster™ and 2SGS combined performance, quiet operation, and environmental sensitivity – offering a solution no other machines can provide.
